Unusually for Aphex Twin remixes, these bear some resemblance to the originals, albeit taking them in unexpected directions. Both cuts are peak Aphex for me, demanding your full attention with their insatiable energy as soon as they come on.

Caustic Window – Joyrex J5 EP
Hot on the heels of the first Caustic Window EP, Joyrex J5 offers more of the same manic acid techno and blissed out rave lushness.
Caustic Window – Joyrex J4 EP
The first Joyrex EP was an anonymous looking slab of wax, attributed to 'Caustic Window'; the first Richard D James release to appear on the label he set up with Grant Wilson-Claridge, Rephlex Records.
Aphex Twin – Digeridoo EP
Aphex Twin's first outing on the legendary R&S label, and despite the lo-fi production there's no denying Digeridoo is an absolute monster.
Aphex Twin – Analogue Bubblebath Vol 2
Analogue Bubblebath 2 is where we first encounter Digeridoo, one of Aphex Twin's most notorious early tracks.
Gacha Bakradze – Obscure Languages (2021)
The myriad genres and subgenres of electronic music can often seem like indecipherable languages to those not familiar with the various intricacies and subtle signifiers that differentiate them. Squarepusher – Ten of the Best

That's why this is Ten of the Best, not 'The Best Ten'. Sure, everyone's got their own list and I could do another ten for Squarepusher sometime, but … Continue reading Squarepusher – Ten of the Best

Jodey Kendrick - EDM A2, EDM B2 (2013). Don't be misled by the EDM abbreviation; this pair of releases, strangely badged as if compilations by a selection of artists, but apparently solely the work of Jodey Kendrick, contains some of the best breakbeat-acid-eletro Braindance I’ve heard this side of the Tuss EP. (Well, until James … Continue reading 21/04/2020 This week I have been mostly listening to
